Continuing the Implementation of the PMIS System in All Vocational Education Institutions in Lithuania
Successful Completion of the First Phase of the PMIS Project
At the end of 2019, we successfully completed the first phase of the project, in which we implemented the Professional Schools Information System (PMIS) for the first six pilot schools. Today, we are confidently nearing the end of the second phase and continue to successfully implement the PMIS system in vocational education institutions across Lithuania. Currently, 61 educational institutions are already successfully using PMIS!
About the Created System
PMIS is an information system designed to automate the main activities of vocational schools and allow the performance of related functions within a single information system.
PMIS Covers the Following Processes for Students, Teachers, School Administration Staff, and Parents (Guardians):
- Management of student records
- Teacher workload and schedule management
- Administrative processes for school staff
- Parental (guardian) access to student progress and school information
Presentation of the Professional Education Information System (PMIS):

- Demonstration of how PMIS automates and streamlines educational processes
Presentation of the Document Management System (DMS):
- How DMS integrates with PMIS to manage school documentation
About the Project
The creation of PMIS is a key part of the project "Development of Information Systems and Registers for Vocational Education and Lifelong Learning," conducted by the National Education Agency. This project aims to address the main problems faced by all vocational education institutions in Lithuania and related target groups, such as applicants to vocational education institutions, students, teachers, managers, administrative staff, and institutions responsible for the supervision and monitoring of vocational education institutions. It was determined that the digital tools previously used in vocational education institutions were insufficient and did not provide opportunities to automate operational processes. Therefore, it was necessary not only to analyze the current processes but also to create a unified information system.
