Information About All EV Charging Stations – In One Database

The State Enterprise Lithuanian Road Administration (LAKD) has launched a public EV charging access operator and access point registration system. EV charging station infrastructure managers are invited to register data about public and semi-public charging access points.

LAKD has already received nearly thirty applications. Information is published and regularly updated on the website https://ev.lakd.lt.

In this database, EV drivers will find information about the exact address of charging access points, operating hours, status (whether the point is operational or not), availability in real-time, and relevant information about charging capabilities such as power and charging standards, and types of charging connectors.

Users can also find out payment methods for services and the cost of charging services.

"This is the first time in Lithuania that such a unified information system has been created, where one can easily and quickly view and use static and dynamic data provided by all operators about public EV charging access points," said Deputy Minister of Transport and Communications Agnė Vaiciukevičiūtė.

"As the EV charging network expands, it is important to have the ability to conveniently use a single database where users can find all relevant information about charging locations and conditions. The goal of this project is to create a comprehensive database of EV charging access points, including all public and semi-public charging points in Lithuania. Detailed information in one place will make travel planning easier for people," emphasized Laurynas Ivinskis, Head of the Intelligent Transport Systems Division at LAKD.

We remind you that registration of public and semi-public charging access points and their operators in this system is mandatory according to the Alternative Fuels Law. Operators who do not register in the system will not be able to participate in public EV charging infrastructure development tenders and will not receive financial support for infrastructure development and subsidies for connecting to the electrical grid. Therefore, all operators are invited to register in the system.

LAKD created this database as part of the EU-funded project "ID and Data Collection for Sustainable Fuels in Europe." The project, launched in early 2019, aims to create a registration system for public EV charging access operators and their managed access points.

This project has developed a standard format for ID codes assigned to electric transport infrastructure and a registry for these codes. The ID code is international and common throughout Europe. Each registered EV charging access operator in the system will be assigned unique ID codes, allowing users to identify which access point they are using at the EU level.

This database will also be available to other European countries. A data exchange system will enable third parties (e.g., GPS, mobile application developers) to use this information to create their services, such as interactive maps and navigation applications. These data will be provided in the DatexII 2 standard for further use.
