Mobile App – "112 Lietuva"
Purpose of the App:
The "112 Lietuva" mobile app was developed to ensure that people with hearing impairments can contact the Emergency Response Center (ERC) and summon emergency services via video call (using Lithuanian sign language), text chat, or regular voice call in case of an emergency.
Technical Implementation:
The app allows users with hearing impairments to communicate with the ERC in real-time using video and text chat. It also utilizes global satellite navigation systems and other location tracking features of the mobile device to accurately determine the user's location.
ERC Operator's Workstation:
The project not only included the development of the app but also the creation of specialized computerized workstations for call operators, including all necessary hardware.
The operator's workstation includes three screens:
- "Incoming Calls" – Operators manage incoming emergency requests, conduct text and/or video calls, view caller information, call history, and more.
- "Map" – This screen displays an interactive map showing the caller's location, registered address, and the incident location.
- "Incident Information" – Operators fill out incident reports, view related incidents, and more.
Design and User Interface:
The app's design is intuitive and user-friendly, with a simplified emergency call process illustrated for ease of use.
Project Benefits and Goals:
"112 Lietuva" ensures that individuals with hearing impairments have the ability to quickly and efficiently request emergency services, improving overall safety and accessibility.
