The education portal www.emokykla.lt serves thousands of visitors daily, necessitating constant updates for proper operation and optimal speed. With high visitor traffic, the portal requires high functionality for administration. Periodically updated educational programs, teaching materials, and textbook data ensure the portal provides up-to-date information and the latest learning resources. The work to update the educational portal's information system for digitizing and displaying general programs in a virtual environment was carried out to maintain its proper functionality.
The education portal is designed to provide access to educational information and electronic services for educators, students, and their parents.
UAB Lexita updated the information system of the education portal. They prepared and uploaded general programs, digital teaching aids, teaching materials, and textbook data. They also tested the updated information system of the education portal and the uploaded data, correcting any identified errors during the testing process.
Commissioned by the National Education Agency, the portal's information system update included redesigning the education portal's interface and navigation, adjusting the menu and functionality, updating the search for digital teaching aids, and digitizing general education programs to be user-friendly for teachers. Interfaces were created linking general programs with teaching materials, digital teaching aids, and textbooks. These efforts were made to present general programs, implementation recommendations, and teaching resources conveniently and interactively.
The updated information system includes an enhanced user administration subsystem. New user registration was modified, and integration with the teacher and student registries was implemented. Content administration capabilities were expanded. The general programs module was updated for inputting, creating interfaces with other modules, storing, editing, and displaying general programs in the information system of the education portal. The digital teaching aids descriptions storage module was expanded, now allowing users to write reviews, rate with stars, and share descriptions. A new teaching materials module was created for portal administrators to efficiently manage teaching materials, upload and edit them. It includes detailed and functional search for teaching material descriptions, and allows users to write reviews and rate them. The consultation module was supplemented with an active "ask a question" button at the bottom of the education portal bar. The software's functionality was expanded.
The education portal is adapted to ergonomic requirements. Each area of the portal's information system, designed for a specific target group, has a consistent structure and applies the same content layout, menu, or option display rules. The user interface of the portal's information system is compatible with the most popular web browsers. The graphical user interface of the portal is adapted for people with disabilities, following the European Union's WAI (Web Accessibility Initiative) guidelines. The mobile version of the site offers full functionality in all updated and newly created modules.
