Information System for Tourist Tax in Vilnius
Project Overview:
The "Tourist Tax in Vilnius" project was implemented in collaboration with the Vilnius City Municipality. The system, titled "Declaration, Payment, and Data Management System for the Local Tax for the Use of Vilnius City Public Tourism and Leisure Infrastructure," enables accommodation service providers to declare the number of city guests and directly pay the tourist tax to the Vilnius City Municipality.
Functional Features:
The project includes functionalities such as direct tourist tax payments via Lithuanian banks' "bank link" and payment collection systems, as well as authorization through electronic government gateways. This solution simplifies the work of accommodation service providers by providing a convenient system for direct tourist tax payments.
Project Goals and Benefits:
The tourist tax is collected for the use of Vilnius City's public tourism and leisure infrastructure. The introduction of the tax aims to increase Vilnius City's competitiveness, develop international tourism marketing, attract more tourists, and boost service exports. The system is expected to contribute to the improvement of the quality of life in Vilnius.
